This dynamic stone massage home study program will help you gain new skills at your convenience. You will learn a complete, basic hot stone massage, a cool moonstone facial massage and six advanced restorative protocols covering a variety of dysfunctions. You will also discover various types of stones, textures and shapes; acquire evaluation skills so you can determine placement of stones; study how to trace each meridian to balance the body; and practice along with video demonstrations.
You will also:
- Review the indications and benefits of heated stone massage
- Examine and explain the cautions and contraindications of performing heated stone massage
- Learn safe and effective ways to heat and cool stones, set up equipment and your work area for stone massage
- Review the lymphatic system, circulatory sytem, as well as organs and glands of the body in preparation for performing heated stone massage
- Learn thermotherapy principles and be able to determine the difference in temperatures and action of four temperature zones
- Determine how heated stone massage can be used with Ayurvedic healing principles
- Discover the Foundation Sequence layout for placement of stones and procedures for massage using heated stones
- Learn and apply the cooling "Moonstone" protocols, performing a restorative facial massage using specific cool stones
- Learn about the meridian theory and be able to differentiate the pathways that the merdians follow along the body
- Understand the general effects of working on specific meridians and be able to trace them to either tone or sedate them
- Explain the 6 meridian specific restorative protocols, effecting many different conditions
The video presentations, by instructor Carollanne Crichton, will demonstrate stone massage techniques and give a variety of close-up views detailing the work. The course manual gives specific explanations of the theory behind and techniques used to perform stone massage.
Prior to purchasing massage stones, the course manual will describe what to look for when selecting stones for stone massage either from stone suppliers or in nature.
