Myofascia is a flexible network of tissue that surrounds, cushions and supports muscles, bones and organs. It also acts as a "riverbed" containing the flow of interstitial fluid, and is a critical influence on the immune and hormonal systems, thus it is an underlying determinant of movement quality, mood, alertness and general well-being. Before birth and during early childhood, movement patterns and structural imbalances may develop.
Learn how to read structural imbalances and variations in the body and address fascial imbalances through this comprehensive guide to understanding and working effectively with the myofascial system.
In this course, you will:
The fully illustrated course text demonstrates how myofascia works, its supportive role within the body's anatomy, and how gentle manipulation of the myofascial tissue is central to lasting therapeutic intervention that can be integrated into any bodywork practice.
This course, Fascia: The Endless Web, was the BEST course I've ever taken in my 15 years of massage therapy continuing education. The course book is fascinating and its information is accessible because of its many photos and diagrams. Reading with the test in hand is a great way to find important nuggets of information. I think this text is a must-read! Thank you for continuing to provide resources that are timely and relevant to MTs everywhere!
- Laura Kruse, LMT, NCTMB
This course was more than I expected! It delved into the fascia and refreshed my understanding of muscle anatomy. I was very excited that it was written by two Rolfers! This course also fit perfectly with my teaching of Yin Yoga. All in all, it was a great course for me. Thank you.
- Sheryl Woodmansee, LMT
I am extremely impressed and pleased with your quality of courses, materials, & staff. I have used your courses for all of my home study units through my 15 years as a massage therapist in the state of Florida. I cannot say enough about your courses and staff, but I will say- to have such quality and service puts you above your competitors.
- Karen Barr-Gosselin, LMT
I loved this course! It put language to what I've been sensing in my practice for years, which in turn makes it easier to explain to clients what is going on. I had not studied fascial anatomy previously and found the material exciting and fascinating. I took longer than I needed to with the course because I was able to tie so much of what I was reading to practical applications with several of my clients
- Cynthia Frey, LMT, NCTMB
I very much enjoyed the material of this class. I must be honest though, the reading was quite detailed! I know that I am far more enlightened than I was before taking this class and have a deeper appreciation for our work as a whole. I would recommend this calls for those who have a bit of experience under their belts as it may be a bit overwhelming for those who may be new to our industry. In other words...this class kicked my keester yet I loved it!
- Diane Brown, CMT, NCTMB
The Endless Web cemented what I had already learned about structural type bodywork and led to new insights in my personal practice. Starting with the development of the human body and tracking forward based on habits and emotional habitats help immensely with evaluation before a session.
- Taylor Seidler, LMT
I took a long time carefully reading & taking notes with this course!! I have to say this was "THE BEST" course I've taken to this point in my career as a LMT & PTA!! Thoroughly enjoyed the content & have already implemented techniques in both fields of practice. Thank you for a great course!!:)
- Carlene Pfeister, LMT, PTA
I always love the variety of courses offered from Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies. This course, "Fascia: The Endless Web" was no exception. Having been a massage therapist for 27 years I'm always looking for courses that inspire, inform and give me some fresh hands-on tools. This course did the trick!
- Maryjane Michaud O'Connor
This course was excellent, something I can refer back to time and time again. I feel I really got my moneys worth. Due to being a massage/NMT therapist for 18 years, full time, it's hard to get valuable knowledge that is not repeated. I would recommend this material to therapists who want to broaden their knowledge. Thank you for providing this!!
- Octavia Delfs
I have wanted to learn more in the area of connective tissue and feel this was an excellent foundation and already have the next book in tow to follow it up with. It has encouraged me to start getting my ten pages a day habit back. Things start tying up in the understanding and it gets exciting again. Thank you.
- margot barnard
Easy to use and always my “go to” for non-contact hours.
- Alison Flemming, LMT
This was a very good course, I really enjoyed it, and very interesting information.
- Terrilyn Dranchak Ames, LMT
Enjoyed this course. Book was very, very interesting. Did learn from this course and it reinforced knowledge that I already knew about the body and fascia. Good course.
- Joseph Burchick, LMT
I had been introduced to some of the concepts contained in this course in other classes, and was always intrigued by the subject. This course expounded on these topics for me in a way that was easy to understand and something I will continue learn about. I hope that this company will make a 'Part 2' of this course and delve into further practical application of the material. I would definitely purchase that.
- Lisa Giroir, LMT
I loved this book and this course! The book was very well written and easy to understand, if you have a decent knowledge of basic anatomy/physiology. The questions were well designed to make the most of the material, but not so obvious that you could skim through without really understanding the material. Great! Loved it!
- Lynn Walden, RMT, LMT
Every course I have taken from this Institute exceeded my expectations. I have expanded my knowledge and increased my understanding of how our body functions. Thank You for your quality courses and supportive staff.
- Pamela Maryanski, LMT
I’m glad I took this course. It was interesting to see how the whole body is connected.
- Charlene B. Clay, LMT, NCTMB
I found the information in this course very interesting. In my almost 14 years as a massage therapist I still find the human body an amazing and fascinating organism. The body’s fascia structure is such an amazing 3 dimensional spider web that connects everything! I cannot wait to apply the knowledge that I have learned in this course on treating my clients!
- Daniel Hodgdon, LMT
I enjoyed this course a lot. I liked the laid back language of the authors (rolfers).
- Neva A. Clark, LMT, NCTMB
This course did a great job of reinforcing prior knowledge and making me think about how connected everything is.
- Jennifer Napoli, LMT
Pretty simple course. My only complaint would be that there are entirely too many analogies. Therapists familiar with basic anatomy/ physiology don’t need so many long winded examples of kinesiology. But it serves as a good learning tool for visual learners in need of examples.
- Rita McNeil, NCTMB
Very informative and interesting. I will definitely choose your courses again.
- V. Ann Spiker, LMT
I am happy to have courses that are not required to be online. I like books and paper. It is easier on my eyes and body.
